      George Brown Construction Craft Worker Foundations Information Session

      We can’t wait to show you around George Brown! The purpose of our information sessions is for you to get a better understanding of our Construction Craft Worker Foundations Program, as well as what it’s like to be a George Brown student. The Augmented Education program at our School of Work and College Preparation, helps prepare students with a history of addiction and/or mental health challenges prepare for, find and maintain a job in Toronto’s construction industry. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are seeking work as part of their recovery process. During this program, students will receive: Classroom and construction lab instruction Personal development and career readiness workshops 160 hours of work placement Additional support and accommodations from program job coaches, when needed. Successful participants will be awarded an Ontario College Certificate and will be qualified for entry-level construction jobs including construction labourer positions in carpentry, masonry, cement finishing and demolition. Students may also be qualified to work in many other areas in the building trades. Directions: Your information session will be held at our St. James Campus. Something to keep in mind: It’s a good idea to do a little bit of research before you arrive so that you know the questions you want to ask, or what areas you’d like to know more about.
